Patient Engagement
Patient Engagement is designed to educate and entertain patients and is one of the core pillars of an overall Acute Care Engagement Solution (ACES).
Vizabli supports a number of different patient engagement devices, including bedside Apple iPads and Android tablets, PCs, and smart TVs, and traditional wall mounted TVs that are navigated with a pillow speaker.
No matter the device, the patient will have access only to the features and applications the facility specifies, and patients will use a common, cohesive user interface on all devices, including the interface and theme for continuity and ease of support.

Bedside Tablet
The bedside tablet app runs on iOS or Android tablets and loads the Vizabli custom app in Kiosk mode when it starts, allowing facilities to specify exactly the apps and features they want to provide to the patient.
The home screen is personalized to the patient, providing care information, prescribed educational videos, etc. and can also be used by the patient to make (and rate the response to) service requests, order food, set their room status (visitors welcome or not), and to use the Epic Bedside native app.
From an entertainment perspective, the device supports the installation and launching of any native 3rd party apps the facility wants to include, such as:
- Web Browser
- Streaming services like Netflix
- Social media like Facebook or Twitter
- Games and News apps
- Live TV displayed using the facilities IPTV networks / apps or mobile apps for various networks / stations can be launched.
When the patient is discharged, the device is automatically reset, clearing out any patient data and content, making it ready for the next patient.
15″ Bedside Touchscreen SmarTV
The 15” Beside Engagement Device is a UL listed touchscreen TV that is attached to a swing arm over the patient bed, allowing the patient to interact with it via touch.
The device automatically loads the Vizabli custom app when it starts and is personalized to the patient, providing care information, prescribed educational videos, etc.
The device can also be used by the patient to make (and rate the response to) service requests, order food, set their room status (visitors welcome or not), and other features.
From an entertainment perspective, the device also supports:
- BYOD – bring your own device, allowing the patient to “cast” or share their own phone or tablet screen to the device’s screen.
- Bluetooth – using the device as a Bluetooth speaker.
- HDMI Input – using the device as a screen for an Xbox, PlayStation, or other gaming console.
- Web Browsing – access steaming services like Netflix, social media like Facebook or Twitter, and other web sites.
- Preinstalled games and other apps
- Live TV – displayed through a built-in tuner that supports NTSC, ATSC, and QAM with Pro:Idiom decryption. The device natively supports IPTV.
When the patient is discharged, the device is automatically reset, clearing out any patient data and content, making it ready for the next patient.
